bulletFrench culture and history as presented in classic and recent films by French-speaking directors from different francophone countries.
bulletAll films have English subtitles.
Viewing the Movies and Class Discussion
bulletClass discussions in English.
bulletEvery class session begins with a short introduction to the historical period in which the film takes place. A few remarks about the political and economical background and about the psychological circumstances of the main characters should enhance the appreciation of the films.
bulletDiscussion and Resources
bulletAll films will be available for private re-viewing in the Language Learning Center, Building 6, Room 264, after they have been shown in class.
