Guillaume Depardieu is the son of two actors, Gérard Depardieu and Elisabeth Depardieu. He grows up in film studios. Already at the age of three he is part of the cast of a movie. He can be seen in Jean de Florette (at age 15) and in Cyrano de Bergerac (at age 19).

His first important role is as the young Marin Marais in All the Mornings of the World when he is 20 years old. His father, Gérard Depardieu, plays the role of the adulte Marin Marais working as Music Director at the Court of Versailles.

In 1996 he received a Cesar for "Best Male Hope". After that the career od this tall blond man who is both comical, rebellious and a dreamer takes off. 

In 2002 he has leading roles in three films. In one of them, entitled "Love your father", he plays opposite his father, Gérard Depardieu.
